The major scale and its derivative modes are fundamental music vocabulary. This booklet shows the seven modes of the major scale on the guitar in full position and one octave distributions. Seventh Chord Voicings

Seventh chords are fundamental music vocabulary. Seventh chords contain four note. On guitar there are 84 possible ways to arrange those four notes. Any particular arrangement of those four notes is called a voicing. This booklet shows diagrams for the basic five seventh chords with closed, drop 2, and drop 3 voicings. This translates to 22 ways to play each chord. Included is a brief discussion of voicings and inversions, as well as suggested practice techniques.
